Description

After Almaty won the bid to host the 2017 Winter Universiade and also the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, city authorities were puzzled by the construction of a new sports club built according to new standards and the latest architectural trends. Almaty Arena is a palace of sports and culture. It hosts various classes in hockey, boxing, mini-football, figure skating, karate and other sports for both children and adults. Large-scale sports competitions are also held here.

The city's Ice Palace has become the second largest sports complex in the former Soviet Union. The area of ​​the building is more than 9 hectares. Almaty Arena itself consists of three parts - the Ice Arena, which can accommodate 12 thousand spectators, a skating rink, a health complex and a swimming pool.
